Tokyo Olympic Games gained a special place in history timeline for the one-year delay in grand opening due to pandemic crisis of covid-19. Despite the difficult and awkward situation athletes give their best in order to win a medal or at least break their own best records.

Elaine Thompson is clearly the "queen" of sprints. After the 100m, the Jamaican won the 200m at the Tokyo Olympics, achieving the second-best performance of all time. The 29-year-old sprinter made history, as she successfully defended the titles she had won in 2016. She is the first woman to achieve "double-double" in sprints at the Olympics, ie she wins the gold medal in the 100m and 200m, in two consecutive events.

Two Olympic high jumpers had gold-worthy performances in Tokyo, and they both thought they deserved the medal. They may have entered a jump-off, each taking turns until the score was beaten. Barshim, on the other hand, requested if they might split the gold medal, which Tamberi agreed to!

In what would very definitely be her final Olympic race, Allyson Felix of the United States created history. The sprinter won gold in the 4-x-400 meter relay. With her 11th career medal, she now holds the record for most medals won by an American in track and field history. She had previously broken the record for the most medals won by a woman in Olympic track and field just one day before.
